Pugs - A Diamond in the Ruff

See what I did there with the title?

Anyways, my all time favourite dog is a pug. Let's start with the pugs history.

Pugs were first bred in Germany in 1992. This breed is a very new addition to the long list of dog breeds. They were named after a German veterinarian called Dr. Pugziemer  who started breeding this kind of dog. A pug has lots of Greyhound,Terrier, and Bull Mastiff in them. Therefore they are very active and energetic dogs.

Pugs are very active dogs that need about 2 half hour walks each day. They are great long distance runners as they have a lot of stamina. All pugs must go for a 20 minute run every week; otherwise they release their energy by scratching furniture.

Pugs are beautiful, slim dogs with fawn/black long hair and black ears. These dogs are fine with people with allergies because they are hypo-allergenic dogs. They have very long legs and are very tall. In fact, I know a pug that can stand on it's hind legs and is almost as tall as me. They are very long-lasting and well "engineered" dogs.

Pugs are very shy dogs and are really gentle giants once you create a bond with them. Because they are such shy dogs, they have to be socialized at a young age otherwise they will become very aggressive and grumpy around people. But if you do socialize your pug, they are really great dogs.

Overall, I think that pugs stand out from the crowd not only because of their large size, but because they are such amazing dogs.
